1. MA IU Fintech club founded by Applied Mathematics students in 2021
IU Fintech is an academic department of the MA Youth Union founded by enthusiastic students of the Mathematics department. IU Fintech regularly hosts study groups, training sessions, and talk shows sharing knowledge about Finance, Quant, Risk Management, Data Science, AI, and all related fields of Financial Technology.

2. Active academic teams and activities
Inspired by the research activities of the Math department’s lecturers, the applied math students are also very active in research activities. They have published several papers in international journals including 1 ISI paper by Vuong Thi Minh Thao, 1 Scopus, and 1 proceedings paper, and presented their research results at some local and international conferences.
The applied math students won many prestigious prizes including 02 first price in the Vietnam National Student Olympiad in Mathematics and 04 first prizes at the research competitions such as National Olympic Econometrics and Applications, and the IU student research conference.

Mr. Đào Trần Trí who won the First Prize on the
Ms. Vu My Linh, member of CFA team, won the runner-up prize in the Final Local Round of the CFA Institute Research Challenge 2017-2018.
